Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on August 24 visited General Vo Nguyen Giap on his 102nd birthday (August 25).  The Vietnamese leader conveyed his best regards to General Giap, the first commander-in-chief of the Vietnamese People’s Army, and an excellent student of late President Ho Chi Minh. He also praised doctors and medical staff at the Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi for taking good care of the General. The same day, Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi also visited General Giap.VNA/VOV online
