Update: 01-12-2012 | 00:00:00

Vietnam attaches considerable importance to strengthening its friendship and cooperative relations with Iran and is very pleased to have witnessed Iran’s achievements in recent years.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed these sentiments at a reception for visiting Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Hanoi on November 30.

Phuc added that the visit will enhance the relationship between Hanoi and Tehran as well as between Vietnam and Iran more generally.

In praise of the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the friendship and cooperation between the two cities, Phuc expressed his hope that the two sides will actively implement potentially mutually beneficial agreements and will expand people-to-people diplomatic activities and promote the role of friendship associations.

The Tehran Mayor demonstrated the impression Hanoi had made on him personally and praised Vietnam’s dynamic economic development and socio-economic stability. He welcomed any further boosts to Iran and Vietnam’s bilateral relations and called for the broadening of collaboration across all fields./.
