Determination of making up an industrialized locality out of Bau Bang District

This is the confirmation of Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of Bau Bang District Party Committee cum Chair of Bau Bang District People’s Committee in his interview with Binh Duong Newspaper on 1 year of the district establishment April 1, 2014 to April 1, 2015.

Bau Bang is reviewing and summing up its one year of establishment with encouraging achievements including total production value of VND 11,854 billion and locomotive industry in the economy of 54.4% for VNd 6,447 billion of revenue, said Minh.

Reporter: Sir, after a year of establishment, what transformation has been made in Bau Bang District?

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh: We have 30% coverage of Bau Bang Industrial Park and Urban Area. And, we are applying for approvals of the government regarding the expansion of additionally 1,000 hectares. Thus, in a year, we have made great transformation from a pure agricultural locality of rubber trees and husbandry to an industrial district.

Reporter: What challenges and advantages Bau Bang District is facing during the economic development process, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh: It is advantageous to us that provincial leaders have given good attention. Besides, upholding the heroic tradition and unity, locals of Bau Bang District have engaged in household economic development to enrich the homeland. And, by the great care of provincial leadership, we have concentrated on capital construction to offer the best facilities and expand the trading opportunities.

However, the advantages hold within the challenges. As a new district, we are facing great demands for investments into health services, culture, education, and power supply. And, as a new district, we are not supported by the State budget, making us short of funds to allocate annually. Such are tremendous challenges to us during the transformation from agriculture into industry.

Reporter: Sir, please elaborate measures for the district to gain such success?

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh: Beforehand, the splitting of administrative localities is righteous to the people’s wishing. Thus, unity is upheld for developing an industrial area out of the district. Additionally, administrative reforms eye great success making way for sustainable and stable development. As the administrative reforms smoothly implemented, more trust of the public and investing communities would be gained for highest unity.

Reporter: Sir, what are the beforehand and future advantages of Bau Bang District?

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh: We have a 2,166ha Bau Bang Industrial Park and Urban Area to welcome investors. Besides, National Highway No. 13 and internal streets of the industrial parks and communes have been basically set up for easiest trading and travelling of merchants and locals. Secondly, the high unity of the public and righteous leadership of local Party Committee have guided us to the right track of industry-service-urban development

Reporter: What measures shall be proposed to develop in accordance with expectation of local Party Committee, authority, and public?

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh: To match such expectation, we shall be expanding industrial park development to the North of the district and calling for investors to increase coverage of Bau Bang Industrial Park and Urban Area. The additional 1,000ha approved by the government would be enough to divert industrial development of the district to diversified approaches of lean and high-tech industries. Bau Bang District shall be of commercial and service promotion. As for agriculture, we shall encourage high-tech orientation for rubber trees, fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, meat, and milk. We shall be establishing specialized agricultural regions to supply for urban areas.

Significantly, we should improve our facilities to maximize the development and make use of all forces to refine traffic system, power supply, administrative facilities, telecommunication, and water supply in a bid to offer best services to the public and investors.

All the efforts and endeavors shall be for promotion of economic development to transform Bau Bang District from a pure agricultural locality to a developed industrialized district.
