Di An district’s Women’s Society, on Oct.19, held a get-together to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.

 

At the get-together, participants reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women. On this occasion, the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee awarded the mementoes “For Women’s Liberation” to 23 local women. The district’s Women’s Society also honored and presented gifts worth VND100,000 each to 68 local women getting involved in the union’s activities over periods.

*The same day, Phu Giao district’s Women’s Society organized a get-together to review the tradition of Vietnamese women in general and of women in the district in particular. Upholding the strength of Vietnamese women, the district’s Women’s Societies at all levels actively fulfilled their entrusted tasks over the past years. For the public relations work, they always connected support for economic development with political education. More than 2,000 members also got over VND3.5bln in loan to develop homebased business. So far, the whole district has had more than 15 models of gathering women, luring involvement of more than 11,000 local women…

 

* Early Oct.19, Thuan An district’s Women’s Union presented prizes to outstanding families of the “happy family” contest. First prizes went to couple Nguyen Thanh Tu and Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc in Binh Nham commune. Couple Nguyen Ngoc Hien and Ho My Nga in Lai Thieu township won second prize while third prize belonged to couple Le Tien Thanh Phuong and Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan in An Son commune. Seven other prizes were also presented to outstanding couples at the contest.
