Promote Vietnamese agricultural products to a global market
With the support of digital technology, farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural enterprises can enhance labor productivity, optimize production processes, and improve product quality. By applying technology throughout the agricultural value chain—from cultivation and harvesting to processing and distribution—efficiency is increased, and Vietnamese agricultural products can reach international markets.
During the workshop titled “Promoting the Application of Digital Technology in the Agricultural Sector Along the Value Chain,” delegates discussed the direction, solutions, and lessons learned in the application of digital technology, data, and artificial intelligence at various stages of the agricultural value chain.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Director of the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that although the agricultural sector has achieved many positive results in applying digital technology, there are bottlenecks in perfecting institutions and legal documents; governance capacity, digital technology application, digital data enrichment of all economic entities; digital infrastructure, especially in remote areas; agricultural product trade through the digital environment; digital human resource development.
To promote the application of digital technology in the agricultural sector, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan proposed a number of solutions, such as: raising digital awareness, digital thinking and digital action; promoting innovation activities of digital startups, especially in rural areas; developing e-commerce infrastructure associated with agricultural logistics; training digital skills of enterprises, cooperatives, farmers from production to sales; along with that, effectively implementing e-Government, Digital Government, especially the quality of public services; developing digital data on agriculture, digital farmers, digital society associated with developing national data on population...
