Dissemination on Party and State’s instructions and policies spurred

Attending the conference were the provincial People’s Committee chairman Pham Van Canh, the provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung, the provincial party committee vice secretary Nguyen Huu Tu, Military Zone 7 commissar lieutenant-general Pham Van Dy.

The conference participants made clear 3 issues of leadership, instruction, management and settlement of situations relating to national defense and security of Public Security, Military, Fire Fighting Police and mass bodies.

Reportedly, reason of the May 13 incidents was risen from a demonstration in protest against China’s illegal placement of its oil rig deep inside Viet Nam’s exclusive economic zone, conflict between employers and employees while dissemination was not implemented timely. Therefore, some agitators took advantage of the situation to incite workers to burn factories, and assault guards and foreign staff of many foreign-invested firms.

Addressing the conference, the provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung highly appreciated functional forces’ responsibility on ensuring political goals, protecting safety for foreign experts. In addition, he steered that functional agencies should in the coming time strengthen dissemination on the Party and State’s legal policies to laborers, build a harmonic relation at enterprises and among others.
