Efficiency from “Good farmers in production and business” emulation movement

Many farmer households in Thuan An town have got rich thanks to application of sci-tech advancements in cultivation and animal husbandry…

 Thuan An town’s Farmers’ Society and its affiliates have over time promoted the emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business” among farmers, bringing positive results.

 Many effective models in cultivation and animal husbandry have appeared in the town, contributing to improving the lives of the local people.

 The emulation movement has also discovered many outstanding farmers, namely Nguyen Van Tuan in An Thanh ward; Tran Van Nam, Nguyen Van Tan in Vinh Phu ward; Tran Anh Tuan in Hung Dinh commune; Vo Hieu Trung…Most of them now secure an average income of VND70mln a year.

Between 2009 and 2012, the whole town has had 2,568 out of 3,607 households winning the title of “Good farmers in production and business” at all levels.

 The emulation movement has been implemented in association with the town’s programs of “farmers helping each other in economic development” by many forms, including giving mutual support in terms of loans, breeding animals and plants…

Over the past time, the town’s Farmers’ Society teamed up with relevant agencies to realize many projects to promote the local agricultural production, including those of “improving the productivity of orchards”, “safe vegetable-growing area”…

 The society also cooperated with the town’s Bank for Social Policy and credit funds to provide more than VND36.25bln for the local farmers; joined hands with the town’s Agricultural Promotion Station, Plant Protection Station, Animal Health Station, Bank for Social Policy…to organize training courses on sci-tech transfer in cultivation and animal husbandry for farmers while providing them with loans for economic development.

 Tran Ngoc Phuong, chairman of the town’s Farmers’ Society said that over the past three years, the emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business” has contributed to promoting the local socio-economic growth.
