Over the past 10 years, local movement of rural traffic building and urban rejuvenation has reached remarkable results. Binh Duong rural traffic has really satisfied development demand of an industrial province.
Since 1997, Binh Duong rural traffic system has been perfected significantly. Binh Duong image of rural area has showed a significant change and satisfied requirements of development in the process of new rural building. Many inter-communal and hamlet routes have been built, facilitating local residents’ traveling and transport. Across wards and communes, numerous asphalted roads have emerged, contributing to perfect local infrastructure facility.
Many rural traffic roads in Binh Duong are invested modernly.
Results done in the past time have been originated from local people and authority’s hi-unity. All level agencies have paid much attention to promoting local people’s strength for the sake of local socio-economic development in general and rural traffic growth in particular.
By transparent and proper policies, all level agencies have paid much attention to combining programs, projects for the sake of proper development.
Part of expense of the movement is from local people’s contributions. In 2009, the entire province implemented as many as 607 works of rural traffic and urban rejuvenation, reaching 121% from 2008. The total expense of these works was at VND253,499mil, winning 147.1% against 2008.
In the past year, local authority and people have made greater efforts to increase density of scale large routes. In 2009, the rate of asphalted roads accounted for 37.40%. The figure showed that local authority and people have a higher awareness on the movement.
Further contributions needed
Though the movement reached high results, the level of contribution from local residents has showed a decrease. Reports of the rural traffic and urban rejuvenation movement in 2009 showed that the level of mobilization from people accounted only for 6.99%. The level of contribution from agencies and companies was very low, accounting for 0.02% of the total investment expense.
The low contribution from people caused a shortage of expense for the projects. A rapid process of urbanization has created a gap between northern and southern districts of the province. This also set out different requirements for localities in implementing the movement of rural traffic and urban rejuvenation.
The provincial administration targets to build works in conformity with local goals of new rural building. The southern localities such as Thuan An, Di An and Thu Dau Mot town have excelled the movement. Meanwhile, the Northern districts will develop in parallel with asphalted roads.
However, implementation of this movement has also faced some obstacles of site clearance, shortage of building materials and among others. Still, if local people’s strength is exploited properly, the movement will be surely developed strongly.
