“Banking street” in Binh Duong

Since the last ten years, Binh Duong Avenue (through TDM City) has been known as a “banking street”. On only 2km of this road, there are tens of bank branches including most names, such as: Vietinbank, Vietcombank, BIDV, Eximbank… According to a representative of newly established bank branch in Binh Duong province, their bank opened a branch on this road, because this is a prosperous road with dense population including mainly small and medium businesses. These are potential customers of banks.

Besides, commercial center, supermarkets have recently been developed in TDM City. In 2004, the people were happy, because of the emergence of Vinatex supermarket on the 2nd floor of TDM market. Now, in the city, there are 10 commercial center, supermarkets. commercial center, supermarkets. In particular, TDM market still meet shopping needs of the people not only in TDM City but also in neighboring areas.

Mr. Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of TDM City People’s Committee, said, in 2012, the city issued Plan No 46 / KH-UBND on high-quality services development in the 2011-2015 period with vision till 2020 to implement Action program No 21 of provincial Party Committee and Plan No 281 of provincial People’s Committee.

After 3 years of implementation, some high-quality services has grown rapidly and diversely in the city, such as: banking, education, telecommunications, cable TV, especially banking sector. Banking sector has developed with quality improvement, customer expansion, meeting capital demand of businesses in the locality. Currently, TDM City has 51 banks and branches, 4 credit funds with many useful services to people.

Enhancing service quality

Despite of many positive results, high-quality services in the city have limitations. Services has grown in quantity but not quality, such as: medical, educational - training, logistics services… TDM City has defined economic structure until 2020 to comprise of service – industry – agriculture corresponding to 60.89% - 39.07% - 0.04%. Hence, the city has paid much attention to high-quality services development.

Namely, the city facilitates high-quality services, creates favorable conditions in terms of land, infrastructure to attract economic entities to invest in services of commercial centers, banking, postal, telecommunications, accommodation, especially social housing, retailing system of supermarkets, mini supermarket chains, renovated traditional markets. Specifically, the city will develop 5 new commercial centers, renovate 3 markets, build up new markets…

In order for high-quality services to grow, TDM City has set development goals for each area. For example, financial – banking sector continues to improve procedures towards simplification, transparency, publicity; implements measures to support businesses. The city will develop domestic market, ensure smooth flow of goods; strengthening marketing, market expansion for goods sale. Simultaneously, the city will develop fast, diversely to exploit effectively postal and telecommunications services to provide high quality services with high safety, security, meeting requirements of local socio economic development.
