Food usage on Tet – people should raise awareness on consumption

To ensure safe food source for people in the upcoming Tet, many agencies have reinforced activities to manage farm produce sources in the province.

Production spurred

To meet demand on food for the upcoming Tet, farmers across localities have reinforced production of growing vegetables.  

People should raise awareness on food safety.

Prices of farm produce items are increasing from 10-20%. Some processed food items are also in price hike from 4-10%. A small trader in Tan Uyen district, said farm produce before Tet is consumed strongly, so price also surges along.

Management of farm produce reinforced

Poor quality products often appear on Tet holiday across unprompted markets. Mrs.Ngan in Thuan An town, said she often buys foods for Tet at markets near her house to save time.

Founded one year ago, Dinh Thien Thuan, head of Binh Duong bureau of quality management of ago-forestry and aquatic products has made efforts to inspect safety of farm produce in the province. Through inspections at markets and slaughter houses, food safety and hygiene have yet to be ensured whilst supermarkets ensure 100% of food safety and hygiene.

According to Thuan, aside from inspections on food safety before, during and after Tet, people should raise awareness on food safety with clear origins.
