Further deepening theory of Binh Duong’s development model

The scientific conference on “Binh Duong’s development model in the national renewal process" is one of the key activities in the series of subsequent activities of the Project on "Reviewing Binh Duong’s development model in the national renewal process and vision to 2050" signed by provincial Party Committee and the Central Theoretical Council for implementation. For the conference taking place successfully, provincial Party Committee and the Central Theoretical Council coordinated to carry out many related contents and tasks over the past time.

Talk show combined with field trip

To prepare for the organization of the scientific conference on “Binh Duong’s development model in the national renewal process", provincial Party Committee and the Central Theoretical Council jointly organized many related activities for the conference over the past time. In addition to assigning specific responsibilities and ensuring close coordination between the Central Theoretical Council and provincial Party Committee, the Steering Committee of the Project mobilized members and experts to implement the project; units and individuals related to the fields to participate in organizing and implementing the workshop.

In order to ensure that the organization of the conference is practical, effective and scientific, contributing to clarifying and solving theoretical and practical problems being raised, the Central Theoretical Council and provincial Party Committee jointly organized a scientific talk show on "The current status of Binh Duong’s development model and its significance in the national renewal process". The scientific seminar was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, former member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, Head of the Economic Subcommittee of the Central Theoretical Council. At the talk show, scientists and leaders focused on exchanging, discussing, commenting, clarifying and deepening characteristics and conditions, especially the causes leading to to the success of Binh Duong, thereby drawing lessons to serve the task of summarizing the development model for Binh Duong province and the whole country. Many speeches also mentioned opportunities and challenges for the province's development in the next period, thereby identifying goals, tasks and proposing solutions to effectively implement the set goals.

Along with organizing scientific seminars, in early October 2023, representatives of the Steering Committee, members, experts, scientists participating in the project and provincial leaders organized a field trip in a number of localities and units in the province to learn about some typical models, experience, good ways in fields through 25 years of the local construction and development, especially in the fields of provincial development planning, State enterprise development model, private enterprise development model, FDI attraction, industrial park development in association with solving social and environmental problems…

Field activities, organization of scientific seminars and the scientific conference on "Following tradition, Binh Duong province on the journey of a quarter of a century: Achievements and prospects" have deepened theory on the development model of Binh Duong province during nearly 40 years of implementing the Party's renewal policy and 25 years of construction and development of Binh Duong province.

In early November 2023, the group 2’s survey team under the Steering Committee of summarizing a number of theoretical and practical issues about the socialist-oriented renewal cause over the past 40 years in Vietnam, led by Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member and Head of the Central Economic Commission, surveyed the development of a socialist-oriented market economy in Binh Duong province. The summary report on the development of a socialist-oriented market economy in the province showed: Based on the Party's theoretical awareness, viewpoints and policies on developing a socialist-oriented market economy, after more than 25 years of construction and development, Binh Duong has focused on transforming the development model, moving from an underdeveloped agricultural economy, heavily relying on economic sectors with State capital, to a multi-sector economy, taking the State economy as the leading force and the private economy and foreign-invested economy to be the main driving force in industrial - urban - service development. Along with economic development, the province has always attached special importance to taking care of and developing all aspects of social and cultural life, constantly raising living standards, improving material and spiritual lives for people living and working in the locality.

Delegates participating in the survey affirmed that over the past 25 years, Binh Duong has made an impressive transformation. The province has created a favorable environment for investors while taking State-owned enterprises with the leading role. The province's economic structure is shifting very quickly towards modernity with the economic growth model increasingly relying on science, technology and innovation. Besides, Binh Duong has put the people as the center, well performing social welfare while the government has continued creating development throughout...

The organization of the scientific conference on "Binh Duong’s development model in the national renewal process" as well as the implementation of the Project on "Reviewing Binh Duong’s development model in the national renewal process" and vision to 2050" is a very important practical basis for the comprehensive and profound assessment of Binh Duong's development model over the past 25 years, determining vision, orientations and breakthroughs in the local development in the new period. It is believed that with the careful preparation of relevant units, the scientific conference will take place successfully, contributing to deepening the development theory of Binh Duong province in particular and the country in general in nearly 40 years of implementing the Party's renewal policy and the issues raised in the new period.
