At 3:45 p.m. on January 24, Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in Ben Cat town’s Thoi Hoa ward was honored to welcome German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Attending the delegation were representatives of Vietnam's central agencies. For Binh Duong province, there were Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of relevant departments and sectors.
The atmosphere welcoming German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was very solemn. He shook hands with the school’s lecturers, students and sent congratulations to them. He also expected that VGU is not only a university, but also a top training and research center in Vietnam, reaching regional and international levels; is organized and operates under a new, pilot model, with the effect of creating motivation to promote innovation in the higher education system in Vietnam.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier expressed his belief that VGU will contribute to improving the quality of Vietnamese higher education to the level of advanced schools in the region and the world.
