Get-together marking 56th anniversary of Phuoc Thanh victory held

Early September 18, Phu Giao district’s Club for Retired Officials and Former Revolutionary Prisoners held a get-together for the local former revolutionary prisoners on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of Phuoc Thanh victory and the liberation of Phuoc Thanh prison (September 18, 1961-September 19, 2017).

At the get-together, delegates reviewed the heroic tradition of Phuoc Thanh province’s people and army, especially in the historical battle at midnight on the 17th and dawn of the 18th of September 1961, freeing nearly 300 revolutionary soldiers and locals.

On this occasion, the district’s People’s Committee also honored 22 outstanding collectives and individuals who set bright examples for young generations to follow in the period of 2015-2017.
