Thuan An City holds get-together of soldiers and families of revolutionary base

Celebrate the 49th anniversary of the the Southern liberation and the National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) and the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024), Lai Thieu district’s Liaison Committee of the Former Resistance War (now Thuan An City) in collaboration with Thuan An City Youth Union organized a program "Youth Festival with the Mountains and Rivers" - Traditional meeting of officers, soldiers and families of the revolutionary base in Lai Thieu district. Vu Minh Sang, former Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the moments of fighting and victory of our army and people in general, and Binh Duong province in particular. Accordingly, in the Lai Thieu area in the last days of April 1975, secret and liaison facilities such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Huynh, Ms. Chin Gia, Ms. Kim Huong, Ngoc My... stayed up all night to sew flags, prepared for the fight... Lai Thieu was liberated before 9:00 a.m. on April 30, 1975, before Mr. Duong Van Minh in Saigon announced his surrender. Our army complete controlled over Lai Thieu, people along both sides of Highway 13 poured out to wave to the liberation army that was rushing to liberate Saigon...

On this occasion, Thuan An Youth Union donated 20 million VND to the district Liaison Committee of the Former Resistance War; Leaders of wards and communes of Thuan An City presented gifts to members of the committee.

Every year, Lai Thieu district’s Liaison Committee of the Former Resistance War coordinates with Thuan An Youth Union to organize meetings and review the nation's history of fighting foreign invaders and at the same time educate the younger generation on national pride and self-respect, continuing the tradition of our ancestors to protect the Party, protect the people, and develop Thuan An's hometown.
