Provincial delegation visits and works with Singapore’s ST Engineering Group

*Vietnamese Embassy strengthens connection between investors and Binh Duong

As part of the experience learning program of the class for provincial Party Committee’s planned cadres for the 2025-2030 tenure and the following years, a delegation of provincial leaders, led by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee has just visited and worked with ST Engineering Group in Singapore. Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Minh Thuy, Member of provincial Party Standing Commitee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission and representatives of the province’s several departments, sectors and Becamex IDC also participated in the delegation.

At the working visit, Senior Vice President of ST Engineering Group briefly informed the delegation of the history of formation and development as well as the group’s key fields. Accordingly, ST Engineering Group is a Singaporean multinational technology and engineering corporation, operating in the fields of aerospace, smart city development as well as public security and defense. In addition, ST Engineering also focuses on developing advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect digital assets and critical infrastructure facilities...With the annual revenue of over 7.7 billion SGD, ST Engineering is one of Asia's largest engineering and defense corporations, with a network of subsidiaries and affiliated companies across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States...

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Thao said: “Through this working visit, leaders of Binh Duong province want ST Engineering Group to visit and exchange with the locality about more solutions for smart city development, contributing to creating motivation for Binh Duong to develop in a smart, ecological direction, promoting the local digital transformation process..., futher becoming an attractive destination of domestic and foreign investors, continuing improving the quality of people's lives.

At the working visit, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee informed Mai Phuoc Dung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Singapore of the local socio-economic achievements. Accordingly, the province’s export turnover in 2023 was US$ 31.8 billion while import value was US$ 23.1 billion. The province ranked third nationwide in FDI attraction with more than 4,200 projects, total investment capital of over US$ 40 billion. Among countries and territories making investment in the province, Singapore is the third largest investor with US$ 5.4 billion...

Mai Phuoc Dung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Singapore spoke highly of the outstanding results done by Binh Duong while informing the delegation of the activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore over the past time; outstanding results in diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore today. With its responsible role, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore will create favorable conditions to connect Singaporean investors with Binh Duong province.
