Provincial NA deputy delegation meets officers and soldiers of armed forces

On the afternoon of May 13, provincial National Assembly (NA) deputy delegation, including Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Deputy Minister of Defence; Le Van Kham, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Social Committee;Priest Nguyen Van Rien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, Chairman of Binh Duong provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, had a meeting with voters who are officers and soldiers of the Division 5’s Regiment 271 under the Military Zone 7 before the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly.

At the meeting, after hearing Priest Nguyen Van Rien’s announcement about the program of the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly, these voters proposed a number of issues on preferential policies for those who currently receive salary in the armed forces; officers’ great demand for social housing; raise of the service age limit of officers to comply with the current Labor Code and Social Insurance Law; policy of tuition exemption and reduction for pupils and students who are the offspring of officers and soldiers, support in finding jobs for officers' relatives…

These voters' petitions were directly answered by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong at the meeting. Some petitions that do not fall within the delegation's authority were also noted by the delegates and soon proposed them to relevant agencies for consideration and resolution in the near future.
