Getting to the hostels to propagate the law

Update: 13-06-2022 | 16:33:20

In order to improve legal knowledge for workers, trade union officials at all levels have been proactive and flexible in their approach, taking advantage of the "golden time, golden hour" to propagate legal knowledge to all levels of the hostels.

Accompanying the vulnerable

Around 7:00 p.m. on weekends, at Minh Sang hostel of Nhi Dong 2 neighborhood in Di An ward of Di An city, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, deputy director of the provincial Trade Union Legal Advisory Center, came to propagate legislation for workers and residents. As he arrived early, Mr. Dung took advantage of asking about each person's hometown and situation. About 20 minutes later, the workers were crowded and ready for an evening of questioning and answering legal questions.

Law dissemination is made right at the residence of workers

At the propaganda meeting that day, many questions from workers related to their regimes were raised and were enthusiastically guided on how to solve.

Similarly, at Nguyen Van Ro Hostel in Binh Khanh ward and Khanh Binh ward of Tan Uyen town, around 19:30 on Sunday evening, although it was raining, it still attracted a lot of workers in the hostel listen to legal propaganda. Ms. Nguyen Le Kim Ngan, an officer of the Trade Union Legal Advisory Center, shared that in order to renew the approach and propagate the law for workers, the officers visit each hostel on weekend evenings. When coming to the facility, people will feel more comfortable, the story will be more vivid and close. “The joy of law propagandists is that when they say what workers need, they understand, they do the right thing to change lives from the smallest things. Coming to the hostels, we feel that we have to be more enthusiastic in propaganda to bring legal knowledge to a large number of workers. When they have legal knowledge, they will actively stay away from evils as well as protect their rights," said Ngan.

Talking about the effectiveness of legal propaganda at the hostel, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Di An ward, said: “Di An ward is the first unit to cooperate with the Legal Advisory Center to propagate directly at the hostel. The previous propaganda method was to invite people to the neighborhood office, but now the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of the ward actively changes its approach. This is also a way for workers to speak boldly and break down all barriers so that they are no longer shy. Thereon, we can easily capture their thoughts and aspirations and propagate and solve the problems that they still have questions about."

According to Ms. Huong, 3 propaganda campaigns in the year have been available focusing on hostels in the ward with different topics suitable for each time.

Innovating the form of propaganda

As a person with "seniation" in propagating policies and laws to workers, Mr. Le Minh Hoang, Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union of Tan Uyen town, said today how to gather many workers. Law dissemination was renewed in the form of small groups and propaganda on many different topics. “In order to effectively propagate, officials must frequently change their approach; they must be concise but meaningful because workers don't have much time, they will not remember much if they hear a lot. Another thing is that instead of having to present a lot, technology should be applied to make a brief presentation with banners or charts and even voice to increase persuasion," said Mr. Hoang.

Talking about innovation in propagating the law to workers, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khanh, Deputy Chairman of the provincial Trade Union, said that the provincial Trade Union develops plans and directs trade unions at all levels to implement implemented many forms suitable to the actual situation, attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate. In particular, the focus on propagating documents related to the life and work of employees such as the Labor Code, the Law on Social Insurance, the Law on Trade Unions has been established. Along with that is the strengthening of propaganda on drug prevention and control, crime and social evils; on ensuring room order and traffic safety.

Mr. Khanh emphasized that one of the leading solutions to build a harmonious, stable and progressive labor relationship in an enterprise is to improve the understanding of the law for workers. With knowledge of the law, employees will have a sense of compliance and self-protection of legitimate rights and interests. In the coming time, the provincial Trade Union will diversify forms of legal propaganda and dissemination, select forms of propaganda suitable to the actual situation from time to time so that workers can easily absorb, understand and remember.
