“Green Sunday” and “Voluntary Saturday” programs have made strong pervasion among Youth Union members in the province. The goal of the programs is to make propaganda in order to protect the environment, natural resources and join hands in combating climate change.

The 2017 provincial Green Sunday” and “Voluntary Saturday” programs promise hallmarks of the local youngsters. They will help the province create a new image on urban scenery as well as protecting the environment. Under the instruction of provincial Youth Union, they have been implemented in line with each locality’s specific characteristics.

Accordingly, the local Youth Union branches have fostered models to enhance the quality of the “Green Sunday” and “Voluntary Saturday” programs; regularly maintained activities to effectively deal with the situation of urban disorder and environmental pollution at industrial parks and in residential areas…They have also set up youth volunteer squads on environmental hygiene with such significant activities as clearing polluted canals, eradicating illegal advertising boards, mobilizing people to classify waste at source…

During the 2017 provincial Youth Month, 100% of the local Youth Union branches will continue promoting the “Green Sunday” and “Voluntary Saturday” programs, maintain or build civilized streets, alleys and irrigation ditches. Particularly, the city’s Youth Union inaugurated a youth flower garden, cleaned up Bach Dang street, cleared canals, carried out a youth work for the environment of the whole city…Thuan An town’s Youth Union implemented “Green Sunday” activities in Binh Chuan ward and An Son commune. Whilst, Di An town’s Youth Union realized a civilized urban street and 2 advertising boards free of charge. Youngsters in Tan Uyen town also cleared Binh Co stream, contributing to implementing the campaign of “Youths joining hands to build new rural areas”.

The “Green Sunday” and “Voluntary Saturday” programs have not only been promoted during the Youth Month, but also on the occasion of the World Environment Day, June 5 and the summer youth volunteer campaign. Possibly speaking, these programs are very effective and close to Youth Union members. They were regularly implemented by provincial Youth Unions at all levels over the past time, absorbing numerous Youth Union members, obviously showing their voluntary spirit for the sake of the community…
