Improving laborers’skills

Update: 12-03-2019 | 11:00:43

Many enterprises in the province need a large number of laborers, including unskilled ones, at their demand for production expansion in early 2019. With such urgent demand, laborers will start their jobs and they almost have no time for improving their skills. This will be a great challenge for laborers as well as enterprises in the 4th industrial revolution.

Lack of skilled laborers

According to statistics from provincial Labor Union, from late 2018 to now, around 345 enterprises have announced to recruit nearly 48,000 laborers. For example, Apparel Far Eastern Co. in VSIP 2 needs around 4,000 laborers. Some other enterprises, namely Thong Dung Co.Ltd., Thai Binh Shoes Co.Ltd., Yazaki Eds Co.Ltd., Chi Hung Co.Ltd.,…also need around 1,000-3,000 laborers.

But, one of province-based enterprises’ current concerns is the lack of skilled laborers. Noticeably, enterprises are changing in accordance with the 4th industrial revolution, so their demand for hi-quality human resources gets more urgent.

In order to get workforce at their demand for production, province-based enterprises have got support from provincial Job Placement Center while organizing groups to hunt laborers. Most laborers are recruited from central highlands provinces with low skills under a program on labor linkage between Binh Duong and these localities. Hence, they need to be trained at requirements of enterprises…

Improving laborers’ skills

Over the past years, Trade Union locals in the province were braced up to cooperate with enterprises to improve laborers’ skills, organize competitions for good and creative laborers…Currently, some enterprises, namely Foster Electronics Co.Ltd., King Jim Vietnam Co.Ltd., Fujikura Fiber Optics Vietnam (FOV) Co.Ltd., Scancom Vietnam Co.:Ltd.,…also hold such competitions, absorbing numerous laborers.

Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of Shyang Hung Cheng Co.Ltd.’s Trade Union in Thuan An town said that thanks to creating favorable conditions for laborers to improve their skills, the company has so far owned a hi-quality workforce, generating the best products for clients. And this is also the way for the company to keep laborers.

The Divisions of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of districts, towns and TDM city coordinated with relevant units to organize tens of vocational training classes every year. Province-based vocational training facilities also focus on opening vocational training classes at laborer market’s demand. Especially, they have linked with enterprises to create a real working environment for learners. Thus, after graduation, laborers have met enterprises’ requirements.

With the above efforts, it is hoped that the province’s workforce, especially unskilled laborers will step by step improve their skills at requirements of enterprises and a locality with industrial development like Binh Duong.
