Information and Communications branch make substantial progress

On January 12th, Ministry of Information and Communications held an online conference to summarize works in 2020 and announce tasks of 2021. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the conference. At Binh Duong endpoint, Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of departments and branches took part in the online conference.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam acknowledged and appreciated accomplishments of the information communication branch, contributing to the development of the country. The national postal, telecommunications and information infrastructure network has made rapid and solid developments nationwide. Information technology and digital technology have developed strongly, impacted on all aspects of socio-economic life. In particular, the national digital transformation program has been implemented with the dual goal of developing digital government, digital economy, digital society, and the formation of large digital technology enterprises.

In recent years, this industry has taken important steps in fields of safety, cyber security, step by step perfected the legal corridor in this field. The press also contributed importantly and essentially and helped the Government to control socio-economic areas, control inflation, ensure social security, fight against negativity, combat peaceful developments and distort, reactionary allegations of hostile forces; reflected the main flow of Vietnamese society, contributing to creating social consensus, arousing aspirations for Vietnam to be strong and prosperous.

At the conference, the Department of Information and Communication announced policies to support small and medium enterprises in digital transformation with 12 digital platforms. The target set in 2021 is to supports at least 50 thousand businesses to access digital platforms, at least 30 thousand businesses experience free digital platforms. To announce a digital transformation supporting platform dedicated to press agencies. The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also announced website activities of Vietnam Center for False Information Handling.
