The head of Russia’s Republic of Kalmykia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet and paid a visit to the province on Aug. 30.

Receiving and working with the delegation were the provincial secretary Mai The Trung and local leaders. The delegation learnt about local socio-economic situation and industrial, service and urban development. The Kalmykian President expressed his joy on strong industrial development of the province and wanted to boost cooperation on training and education field. He said “We will firstly cooperate with Binh Duong to open a training course on chess in a university, then will be investment promotion between Binh Duong and Kalmyk”.

The Republic of Kalmykia of the Russian Federation is an agricultural nation with the population of over 400,000 people but has a large area of hundreds of thousands of km2. The country has large oil and gas reserves in need of investment.

Also the same day, the delegation visited Binh Duong New City and Eastern Int’l University.
