Laws on Drug Prevention Control, Covid-19 Prevention Control, and Food Hygiene Safety implemented

On Dec 22, in Hanoi, the Government Office held a nationwide video conference on the implementation of Laws on Drug Prevention Control, Covid-19 Prevention Control, and Food Hygiene Safety. Attending the conference were Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister; and leaders of a number of ministries, departments and branches. At Binh Duong endpoint, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the conference.

At the conference, main contents of Law on Drug Prevention and Control; Law on handling of administrative violations on detoxification and post-detoxification management and a number of documents stipulating qualified medical facilities, determination of drug addiction status and dossiers, order and procedures for determining drug addiction; regulations on standards, diagnoses, and professional procedures for the identification of drug addiction… were presented.

The representative of the Ministry of Health also approved plans for Covid-19 prevention control and food hygiene safety during Tet holiday. The goals are to minimize food poisoning cases during the Lunar New Year and festivals in 2022. To strengthen inter-sectoral inspection from central to commune level, especially for groups of products that are consumed a lot during Tet and festivals with high risk factors, food processing villages, provinces with border gates, and big cities.

Previously, representatives of the Ministry of Health also thoroughly put forward a number of tasks to prevent and control the Covid-19 at grassroots level. Namely, in the coming time, medical branch and public security will continue to maintain and promote the role of the grassroots police and Community Covid teams to trace contacts and manage infected people at grassroots level to ensure security and safety in isolation and treatment areas; manage people on entry to monitor and prevent new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus; continue to coordinate inter-sectoral implementation of a number of other tasks for the Covid-19 prevention and control.
