Local socio-economic situation changes positively in first 2 months of 2024

On the afternoon of March 7, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired a session of provincial People's Committee to approve a number of the local contents on socio-economic development. The event was attended by Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

According to a report by provincial People's Committee, in the first 2 months of 2024, the province's industrial production index increased by 3.33%. The province’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services was more than VND 56.65 trillion, an increase of 15.7%. The province’s export turnover reached more than US$5.34 billion, an increase of 28.1% while import value was over US$ 3.54 billion, an increase of 13.1% over the same period in 2023. The whole province attracted more than VND 11.9 trillion, an increase of 47.5% over the same period in 2023 and US$ 144 million in foreign investment capital. The province's budget revenue was also estimated at reaching VND 13.17 trillion, an increase of 14% over the same period of 2023...

The session reported a number of important drafts on the local socio-economic development in the new period; a policy to adjust the operational term of some projects of enterprises in Dong An 1 Industrial Park in the phase 2; a draft decision on the local adjustment of the general planning of Thu Dau Mot city at the location of the city’s old Party Committee and People's Committee...

Concluding the session, Mr. Minh agreed with the draft reports while requesting departments, sectors and localities to closely follow regulations, make public processes in accordance with the law and report arising issues to provincial People's Committee.
