Update: 27-12-2012 | 00:00:00

Inspections spurred

In order to maximum meet the rising demand on the coming holidays, the local Transport Department launched a plan on transport in the New Year 2013, Lunar New Year and Lady Temple festival. Accordingly, coach terminals and transport businesses need to mobilize all sources and set out plans to ensure safe transport. The plan specifies not to overload and lack of vehicles in the peak time.

To assure the above requirements and offer favorable conditions for people, the provincial transport department director assigned concrete tasks for local traffic inspection unit to cooperate with functional agencies in order to check technical conditions of vehicles, solve overload transport and traffic violations, curb traffic congestion at hot spots, spur patrols to solve pavement occupation and traffic violations and among others.

Many services for passengers

In the recent years, Binh Duong-based coach ticket agents located at industrial parks, residential areas and towns have been in good operation, meeting local residents’ demand on transport.

Many transport companies have offered door to door pick-up services. They include Lam Hong in Di An town, Kim Ngan in Thuan An town…

Pham Huu Phan, 71, from the Mekong Delta province of An Giang paying a visit to his son, said “Traveling is now held perfectly. Coach companies’ pick-up service help me arrive at my son’s lodging room conveniently”.

At present, transport companies have fulfilled price listing for the coming Lunar New Year holiday with an average increase of 20-60% from ordinary days. The increase also depends on distance and time.

On surveys implemented at industrial parks and residential areas in Di An town, Ben Cat district, Tan Uyen district…, coach companies launched marketing and set out concrete plans of departure time to cater for laborers at businesses. However, their price is higher than coach stations’. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien, an immigrant worker, said “Despite price hike of some transport companies, we still choose them because they ensure our working time and door to door pick up service”.
