Identifying the potentials and advantages of agricultural development, provincial localities have focused on implementing and applying scientific technological advancements in the direction of high-tech agriculture. As a result, agricultural production in the province has eyed a strong growth and obtained higher value of agricultural products.

Due to the push up in scientific and technological application in production, provincial agricultural sector in recent years has eyed a strong growth. Many new agricultural models have been implemented, such as greenhouse cultivation, improved irrigation system (automatic, drip, spray)..., creating a new face for provincial agriculture in the direction of high-tech agriculture.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, Deputy Head of North Tan Uyen District Economics Bureau, said with its potentials for agricultural development, the district constantly innovated and promoted the effectiveness of scientific technological application. The application and transfer of scientific technological advancements in agricultural production has helped to generate products with good quality, high productivity and heighten competitiveness of products. Namely, the district has applied clean agricultural production standards of VietGAP into intensively cultivating pomelo trees in Hieu Liem Commune; developing and managing a collective trademark of North Tan Uyen oranges, pomelos…
Bau Bang, Phu Giao District… have also enhanced the application and transfer of scientific technological advancements into production. By the end of 2015, Bau Bang District had 36 pig farms, 34 chicken farms and 9 fruit-growing farms applying high technologies with modern breeding facilities, like automatic trough, postharvest technology, greenhouse hydroponic system, automatic irrigation spray system… according to VietGAP standards.
Mr. Le Thanh Tam, Vice Chairman of Bau Bang District People’s Committee, said the district’s agricultural development orientation was high-tech agriculture and promoting agricultural products specific to the district. Stimulating sustainable agricultural development
In Phu Giao district, in addition to An Thai high-tech agricultural zone (An Thai commune) invested by U & I Agriculture JSC and 2 areas of high-tech dairy farms at Tan Hiep and Phuoc Sang invested by Binh Duong Sugar JSC, the district has encouraged farmers to switch to high-tech farming, livestock. Thus, the district has now new models, such as biological padding in livestock; freshwater fish, crocodile breeding... In the field of cultivation, currently the district has many models applying closed greenhouse system, using automatic fertilizing and watering system. Many farmers in the district have also applied this technology into a number of crops, such as tomatoes, vegetables, cucumber ...
Ms. Vu Thi Hue living in Ca Na Hamlet, An Binh Commune, Phu Giao District said, implementing the conversion of agricultural production model, her family had invested more than VND500 million in growing melon. Her closed greenhouse system has an area of 2,000m2, including steel frame covered by nylon... to avoid insects; inside the greenhouse are paths, automatic irrigation system, temperature measurement ... Although this is a new model, it has given good results and met the demand for fresh vegetables in the locality.
Due to good results of the scientific technological application in agricultural production, localities in the province said they would continue to coordinate with agencies, sectors to improve productivity and product quality; production in association with processing and market demands. Localities will encourage local farmers to convert low-quality crops into high-tech agricultural models; thereby, creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in the agriculture sector in order to stimulate the sustainable development of this sector.
