Horasis Asia Meeting 2018 will take place from 25 to 27 of November 2018 at the Binh Duong Exhibition and Convention Center. To inform readers about this event in a timely manner, Binh Duong correspondent interviewed Mai Hung Dung, Member of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee.

- How is Binh Duong building smart city, sir?

- The project to build the smart city of Binh Duong has four main pillars: human resource development, enterprise development and application of science and technology in management and production; There are also basic elements to building a smart city. Based on that project, Binh Duong has developed the roadmap and specific plan for each of these pillars.

- Recently, Binh Duong has been joined in the community of smart cities in the world, please tell us more about this event?

- We have to build a relationship "3 houses" (State - school - entrepreneurs). Talking about smart cities, we are just getting started, what we do is very little. However, when we started building smart cities, we chose to participate in the ICF. They also provide criteria for evaluating developed cities, smart city building criteria as well as intelligent city building plans.

After applying for admission, on the basis of assessing the strength as well as the construction plan, the determination of the Party, government and people in the province, the ICF has recognized Binh Duong as the 180th member on world. ICF also voted Binh Duong as one of the top 21 smart cities to build in 2018. That is what Binh Duong has done in recent years. Through this process we find that building a smart city that meets the common standards of the world is a very difficult matter.

Thus, depending on the conditions and characteristics of Binh Duong, we approach in what and with this angle of approach, we determine which direction will go. That is the way Binh Duong has been doing in the past.

- Sir, the application of technology for Binh Duong smart city will be like?

- Talking about intelligent urban development, there are many problems. Regarding technology, Binh Duong has applied many technologies. These are technology applications in state management, in addressing the needs of the people. For Binh Duong, we are less concerned with this issue, focusing on cooperation in human resource training, economic development and quality of life.

However, it should be emphasized that the application of technology is only a small part of Binh Duong Smart City Construction Project. We go in the direction of making people live better each day, including the application of technology but the application of this just to make life more convenient.

- Binh Duong is building a smart city. Could you tell us that Horasis 2018 held in Binh Duong will create favorable conditions for Binh Duong?

- Horasis 2018 hosted by Binh Duong. First of all, we would like to expand our investment cooperation opportunities in Binh Duong. Secondly, we want this to be an opportunity for businesses in the world to know Binh Duong. Third, we want to create a combination of Binh Duong and foreign companies.

There will be 4 official sessions, 36 dialogue sessions. The content of these dialogues focuses on the challenges faced by developing countries, as well as on the challenges faced by the 4.0 industry, what to do. There are also challenges for cities in terms of limited budget such as Binh Duong to build smart cities to do. That is what Binh Duong wants to learn from international friends, from executives, leaders of international corporations to attend Horasis 2018 to share their experiences.
