According to the French Embassy in Vietnam, many famous French artists and directors will participate in the “Country in Focus” in the framework of the first international film festival in Vietnam to be held in Hanoi from October 17th to 21st 2010.
This is the first time the French cinema has been chosen to host the programme “Country in Focus” at the film festival with five French films. Directors of three of these films and artists will be present in Hanoi to participate in the film festival and exchange ideas with viewers.
There will be a total of eight prizes awarded, including best feature film, best short film, best documentary, best director, best actor and actress and a prize for the Network of the Promotion of Asian Cinema, plus a media prize.

During the five-day event, there will be three seminars on Vietnam’s film industry, an exhibition of photos, an open air film screening and a meet and greet with actors and filmmakers.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the festival is scheduled to be held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi and will be broadcast live on VTV3.
