The district’s Women’s Union has lately mobilized organizations and individual to raise money for 100 needy women on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Women’s Union. In addition to Binh Duong Building Material Co., Di An-based Vinatex supermarket and Di An township’s Credit Fund, there were 13 local individuals supporting the mobilization.

Truong Thi Tu, a poor woman in Tan Dong Hiep commune said that apart from this gift delivery program, the local Women’s Union offered more help to poor women like her via many various forms, including giving financial support, providing sci-tech advancements in animal husbandry and cultivation.... In the context of the difficulties of the country, mobilizing all forces to take care of the lives of poor people, including women is a major policy of the Party and State. As of early 2010, the whole district had 483 poor households under the new poverty line (or 1.73% of total), comprising of female-headed households. The district over time well realized poverty reduction, vocational training and employment creation and a “four stabilities” program on health, life, job and housing for the local policy beneficiaries and poor people.
Di An district was annually recognized as a locality excellently fulfilling social policy task. The district’s Women’s Union and its affiliates also considered the support for women in economic development as a key task and “lever” for promoting other tasks.
Le Thi Nga, chairwoman of the district’s Women’s Union said: “Thanks to the local Party and government’s attention and help, many models to develop home based business were applied and brought hi-economic efficiency over the past years, helping poor women herein rise up out of poverty…”. The district’s Women’s Union and its affiliates effectively organized many support programs for poor women such as giving more support on job creation, loan, nurslings, breeding animals, home utensils…In the first nine months of this year, they helped 8,000 women get nearly VND9bln in loan from many different resources to develop home based business.
The district’s Women’s Union also mobilized donors to build compassion houses for poor women. With the above mentioned significant deeds, the district’s Women’s Union and its affiliates have greatly contributed to helping poor women herein to improve their lives…
