Ministry of Home Affairs approves the establishment of Tan Binh town (North Tan Uyen District)

On 22 Sep, in Hanoi, Ministry of Home Affairs approved the scheme to establish Tan Binh town in North Tan Uyen District, Binh Duong.

Ly Van Dep (standing), Deputy Director of provincial Department of Home Affairs, assigned by Provincial People's Committee, presents the scheme to the Ministry.

Tan Binh town has a natural land area of 28.93 km2, population of 9,879 (as of December 31st 2019), including a total permanent population of 7,387, temporary resident population of 2,492. Administrative borders: The North borders Hung Hoa commune, Bau Bang district and Phuoc Hoa commune, Phu Giao district; the South borders Vinh Tan ward, Tan Uyen town; the West borders Chanh Phu Hoa ward, Ben Cat town, and the East borders Binh My commune, North Tan Uyen district.

According to Decision 2970 / QD-UBND dated 10th Oct 2019 of Provincial People's Committee, Tan Binh was recognized as a class-5 city. Regarding the structure and socio-economic development, Tan Binh exceeded all targets prescribed by Resolution 1211/2016 / NQ-UBTVQ13. The budget balance in 2019 of Tan Binh was residual balance, the rate of non-agricultural labor accounted for about 68.69% of total workforce of the commune; The average rate of poor households over three years 2017-2019 was 0%. Compared to a town's standards, Tan Binh reached 4/4 standards as prescribed by law. The establishment of Tan Binh town in North Tan Uyen district is necessary, in line with provincial master plan on socio-economic development and the general planning of Tan Binh urban area, meeting people's aspirations.
