Monitoring resolution of citizens' complaints, denunciations and petitions

Early October 18, Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council, chaired a monitoring session between provincial People's Council Standing Committee and provincial National Assembly deputy delegation. The session was held to hear reports from provincial People's Committee and relevant authorities on the resolution of citizens' complaints, denunciations and petitions.

The session was attended by Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, Deputy Head of provincial National Assembly delegation; along with representatives from districts and cities’People’s Committees, provincial departments and agencies.

According to a review report by provincial People's Council, from May 1 to September 30, 2024, the Standing Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee of provincial People's Council received 142 complaints, denunciations, petitions and feedback from citizens. As a result, 63 cases were forwarded to relevant authorities for resolution, and 55 cases were responded to with guidance. Of the 63 forwarded cases, 43 have been resolved (accounting for 68.25%) while 20 are still being processed.

Meanwhile, during the supervisory period, provincial National Assembly deputy delegation processed 100% of petitions sent to the delegation in accordance with regulations. The delegation also focused on strengthening guidance provided to citizens regarding complaints, denunciations, reports and recommendations to ensure that the public is informed about regulations.

Speaking at the session, Mr. Loc urged relevant agencies to continue focusing on resolving citizens’ prolonged complaints in accordance with regulations, ensuring that they do not affect public security. For resolved cases, relevant agencies are required to publicly announce results on their respective websites and take responsibility in coordinating to handle citizens’ petitions and complaints.
