Get-together to mark the VPA’s 80th founding anniversary held

*Provincial leaders pay visit to Martyrs' Cemetery

Early December 19, provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee organized a get-together to commemorate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th founding anniversary of provincial Veterans Association (December 6, 1989 - December 6, 2024).

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Nguyen Minh Duc, former Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Mai The Trung, former Member of the Party Central Committee and former Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council; members of provincial Party Standing Committee; Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; heroic Vietnamese mothers; Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces; Heroes of Labor during the renewal period; former provincial leaders over periods; leaders of departments, agencies, localities and a large number of officers and soldiers from provincial armed forces.

Over the past 80 years, under the leadership of the Party and with the love, support of the people, the Vietnam People's Army, together with the entire population, achieved great victories in the struggle for national liberation, the defense of the socialist Vietnamese homeland and the fulfillment of noble international duties. Along with the military forces nationwide, countless outstanding sons and daughters of Song Be-Binh Duong province have made immense sacrifices, shedding their blood for the greater cause, glorifying the Party's banner and constantly fostering the tradition of “Courageous, Resilient - Proactive, Creative - United, Dertemined to win” of the heroic armed forces and people of Binh Duong. In the process of national renewal, provincial armed forces have continued upholding the noble qualities and traditions of “Uncle Ho's Soldiers”.

In his speech at the get-together, Mr. Loi emphasized: “Provincial Party Committee firmly believes that provincial armed forces will continue reaching stronger growth, constantly uphold their glorious traditions and effectively perform their roles as a "combat force, working force and production force". He expressed confidence that they would excel in all assigned tasks, making significant contributions to Binh Duong's progress toward becoming a smart, civilized, modern and affectionate city and achieving its goal of becoming a centrally run city by 2030”.

At the get-together, 17 officers and professional soldiers who had continuously served in the people's armed forces, contributing to building the army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland, were awarded  the Victory Military Medal by the State President. Additionally, provincial People's Committee presented the certificates of merit to 11 collectives, 11 households and 34 individuals for their significant contributions to the development of the armed forces and the establishment of a strong all-people national defense in Binh Duong province.

*To commemorate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defense Day and the 35th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Association, on the morning of December 19, provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee, along with leaders of departments, agencies, armed forces, units and representatives from Thu Dau Mot city and Thuan An city, visited and offered incense at provincial Martyrs' Cemetery.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully laid wreaths, offered incense at the Monument of National Gratitude and observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and reunification. Building on the heroic revolutionary spirit during the resistance and the achievements of the former Song Be province, in recent years, the Party, government and people of Binh Duong have continuously strived to achieve comprehensive development, being one of the country’s most dynamic and innovative provinces, taking lead in many fields on socio-economic development.

After the incense offering ceremony, the delegates visited and offered incense at each martyr's grave in provincial Martyrs' Cemetery.
