More rural market-days of Vietnamese goods needed

Le Hanh Quan, Chairman of Phuoc Hoa communal People’s Committee in Phu Giao district said that the market-day of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” in Phuoc Hoa commune has made become this rural area more animated. Truong Van Quanh, Deputy General Director of Phuoc Hoa Joint Stock Co. said that this was a chance for enterprises and customers to mutually exchange. It also helped participating enterprises know more about customers’ need for better production and business.

The market-day of “bringing Vietnamese goods to countryside” has just been organized in Phuoc Hoa commune, absorbing 20 enterprises with 47 booths displaying a wide range of products from household appliances to food & foodstuff, ready-made clothes...

Representative of Coop.Mart supermarket said that more than 100 commodities of Coop.Mart supermarket were brought to the market-day with a total value of VND150mln. Among them, 15 commodities were sold at stabilized prices that were 10%-15% lower than normal market prices.

Although being not under the province’s price stabilization program, many enterprises took part in the market-day with products sold with stabilized prices. Most participating enterprises offered discounts and promotional programs for the local customers. Along with offering 15%-29% discounts on products, participating enterprises like Trung Thao, Minh Suong, Mai Thu, Hung Thanh Tai… presented gifts as promotion to customers.

All participating enterprises were very excited as the three market-days of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” in early 2014 reached higher sales than those of market-days in 2013. The three market-day took place during the 9 consecutive days, so participating enterprises felt “tired”, but “joyful”. Noticeably, although not being so high as market-days in Uyen Hung and Dau Tieng, the sales of the market-day in Phuoc Hoa amounted to VND760mln.

Truong Van Quanh, Deputy General Director of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company said: “…Despite difficulties, leaders of the company have still maintained production and business activities, creating jobs for workers and taking care of their lives. Customers in Phuoc Hoa commune, especially workers of the company like rural market-days of Vietnamese goods very much, so I suggest provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information should organize more such market-days, especially on Tet and great holidays…”.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information said: “Although being very busy in early 2014, we continuously organized three rural market-days of Vietnamese goods in Uyen Hung, Dau Tieng and Phuoc Hoa. They were more successful than expected with total sales of nearly VND1bln each…”.

Also according to her, along with promotional programs, the center has also regularly reminded participating enterprises to attach special importance to product labels so that customers can be easy to check their orgins. Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas is a long-term program. It not only helps promote economic development, but also bears a deep significance of humanity, creating a habit of using Vietnamese goods among rural residents.

The market-day of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” in Phuoc Hoa commune took place very successfully with a great turnover. Specially, leaders of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co. and Phuoc Hoa commune have suggested to relevant agencies increase the number of such market-days this year. This affirms the success of market-days of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas in Binh Duong, promising a good crop to the program of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” in 2014.
