Binh Duong Police holds its meeting to praise up good examples of people’s national security protection on the occasion of commemorating 65th year of People’s Police force establishment on August 19th and the 5th year of national security.
- Reporter: What would you inform of national security protection movement of people in the province?
- Colonel Mai Cong Danh: The police force has cooperated with Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) and its fellowship to develop the movement. The transition is diversified and greatly effective to crime fighting and prevention. Many examples including policemen, volunteers, and veterans emerged from the movement and are ready to protect peaceful life of the people. The programs and policies of Party and State are spread out by education and propaganda movements specifically on national crime fighting program. The police force has cooperated with FFC and its fellowship to organize 4,198 propaganda movements with 306,698 turns of participants. The public has helped to discover 1,015 crime cases and arrest some 1,737 concerned persons; over 97 wanted individuals gave up to police force while 46 others were arrested. Some 135 guns and 2,150 weapons of all kinds were recovered. As for reconciliation, some 9,068 cases were successful. 158 people were converted through education with job opportunities offered to them.
- Reporter: What are effective models of the movement in your opinion?
- Colonel Mai Cong Danh: The movement of national security protection is integrated into cultural movements in localities with over 90% of households standardized as cultural family. The prominent models are Phu Hoa and Thu Dau Mot town crime fighting clubs that helped to uncover 368 crime cases. Besides, models of hostel owners who have offered information leading to processing of 770 cases and capture of 781 people. The model of volunteer youths in crime fighting across An Phu commune, Thuan An district was effective in capturing law violators among other models in Dau Tieng district.
- Reporter: What achievements have grassroots movements made?
- Colonel Mai Cong Danh: As for grassroots movements two prominent models are My Phuoc town, Ben Cat district and Thuong Tan commune, Tan Uyen district. My Phuoc town is a center of politics, economics, and culture of Ben Cat district. The commune is praised by Police Ministry for consecutive 11 years. Meanwhile, Thuong Tan commune, Tan Uyen district has organized models of management, and community education as well as programs of national security protection and effective crime fighting. In 14 consecutive years, Police Ministry has praised up the commune.
- Reporter: What are future orientations to more developed movements?
- Colonel Mai Cong Danh: To continue effective movements, the provincial police have planned to implement tasks in new stage including national security protection in line with reforms of the Party. As the matter of fact, the content of movements should derive from and serve reforms by boosting up propaganda, education, and awareness of national security protection within the public. In that, the participation would be more active and people voluntarily fight law violation. Meanwhile, all functional units in police force should propose content, form, and propaganda measures suitable to age, gender, psychological characteristics, occupation, and literacy in regions. At the same time, coordination should be observed with FFC to deeply propagate policies of the Party and legislation of the State.
