Update: 22-05-2012 | 00:00:00

Development orientation based on difference

In 2002, Phan Le Diem Trang returned home after a study abroad. After that, Trang decided to set up her own company specializing in garment industry. In April 2003, NALT Enterprise was officially put into operation with advanced equipment and technology according to the company’s partner’s standards.

Asked about secret of affirming trademark at the US market, Trang, said “It is a difference on quality and prestige. We have spent much money to invest in facilities and hire foreign experts to manufacture good products. We are never been in late delivery during the past 9 years”.

Creating a friendly working environment

Quality and prestige is factors for NALT to win stable orders but to have long term cooperation with a big trademark, NALT has paid attention to laborers’ life. Accordingly, the company invested over VND1bil to build a medical center and pre-school in service for the company’s workers. At present, the company’s pre-school has taken care of workers’ children free of charge. In addition, the company has supported 100% of tuition for workers’ children pursuing study from primary to university levels.

Notably, NALT medical center has advanced facilities to ensure health check-up and treatment and offered medical services for workers and their relatives.

To ensure health for workers, NALT has paid attention to nutritious and safe meals. In addition, NALT has offered breakfast free of charge for laborers.

Nguyen Minh Ky, 21, from the Northern province of Nghe An, said “My sister has worked for the company for many years with a stable income and good healthcare, so I applied for a job in the company”. Le Thi Lien, 25, said “There’s no place like the company for free service for workers’ children. If sending my 2 children to other pre-schools, I have to take VND2mil per month for tuition. Herein, I have enjoyed a fair income and felt secure of my children”.

While the US companies have eyed markets of Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh to ward off a 10% import tax rate, more than 95% of NALT’s orders has since 2005 been from a big trademark of the US. Therefore, NALT has maintained a turnover of over VND3bil per month.

Phan Le Diem Trang said that aside from the company directorate’s motivation, NALT’s success is thanks to the company workgroup’s great contributions. Better work, an organization of offering inspection service for foreign customers, assessed “NALT has proved that social dialogue by promoting democratic freedom between employers and employees and by taking care of laborers’ material and spiritual life is an efficient approach to help business develop sustainably”. And, NALT’s biggest lesson is attention to laborers. Expense for laborers is considered as an investment.
