Nearly VND39mln spent on helping women in economic development

*Over 13,500 turns of poor households in Di An get help

Since early this year, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have helped more than 12,000 turns of women get nearly VND39bln in loan for economic development. 

The movement of “Women helping each other in economic development” has helped many local women overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Particularly, the movement of “Women helping each other in economic development” has mobilized 3,500 well-off women to offer help to 7,600 needy ones by many forms with more than VND10bln. Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have also launched the “Saving day for poor women” movement with VND2.3bln collected. As many as 1,244 women have been considered to get VND2.1bln in loan from the movement. Besides, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have coordinated with the local Bank for Social Policies to provide 2,669 households with VND25bln in loan.

*Under the campaign of “Each organization, each individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, Di An town’s Red Cross Society offered help to more than VND13,500 turns of the poor, the disabled, Agent Orange victims…with nearly VND4.6bln over the past 5 years.

Tu Anh Tuan, Chairman of Di An town’s Red Cross Society said that the campaign over time received enthusiastic support from cadres, members, volunteers and donors across the town. The society also promoted the development of many effective models, namely “Charity meal”, “Granting free health cards”, “Volunteers’ Club”, “Healthcare’s Club”…
