Women's Union (WU) of North Tan Uyen district has considered the movement of women to help each other in economic development as a key task. Therefore, in recent years, the union has actively mobilized women to participate in production and economic development activities in many specific forms; thereby contributing to improving material and spiritual lives of members and women, and effectively implementing the poverty elimination target of the district.

Many good ways

Nguyen Thi Ly's family ( in hamlet 1, Thuong Tan commune), has an efficient farming model bringing an annual income of billions VND. In previous years, her family life used to be difficult. In recent years, the commune WU supported her in various forms, including loans from Social Policy Bank. Ms. Ly said that with the loan of VND20 million from the district Social Policy Bank, she bought two sows. Owing to participation in training courses on technology transfer, she applied these new techniques in raising pigs, fish and crops (pomelos, rubber) effectively. In addition, on her family’s land, she boldly invested in building a farming model in 2007. At present, with an income of more than VND2 billion per year, she is one example of the first farming production model at her locality.

Sa Thi Hoa (Vuon Uom hamlet, Tan Dinh Commune) overcame the most difficult times, after receiving supports from local women. Knowing her situation, the commune WU introduced her to cultivation and husbandry models. Then she bravely invested in raising beeves, pigs and planting fruit trees. At present, her family’ income is stable with nearly 100 pigs, 13 ha of rubber trees, more than 300 pomelo trees and fish ponds. When family life is stable, she has the opportunity to participate in social activities and help other members to get rich on their own land. "Knowing the difficult situation of my family, women in my commune visited, encouraged and helped to develop my family economic situation".
