On June 29th, leaders from districts and towns and provincial Steering Committee for Flood Prevention and Control have joined in online conference to launch regulations on warning and controlling of earthquakes and tsunami.

 

Participants listened to decision of government’s Prime Minister on informing earthquakes and tsunamis. Suggestion also was made by other committees in CaMau, Ho Chi Minh City, QuangNgai, NgheAn, and DaNang on operation costs and funds for dykes maintenance and reinforcement, and costal preventive forests.

“Members of steering committees in provinces should stick to implementation of regulations and be ready to response. Preparation is decisive with focus on mass media informing and long-term system of inspection and warning of earthquakes and tsunamis,” said Mr. Cao Duc Phat who chairs the conference as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
