Over VND 152 billion paid out to subjects during Tet Holiday 2016

Late December 29, provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to listen to reports of Department of Finance regarding the measures to support Lunar New Year 2016. Tran Thanh Liem, the Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, chaired the meeting with participation of Deputy Chairs of provincial People’s Committee, and leaders of departments and sectors.

According to the proposed measures, total estimation of the payments for Tet Holiday 2016 stood at over 152 billion increasing by 11% higher than in 2015. The payments to beneficiary subjects are the same as in 2015 with highest of VND 3.5 million and lowest of VND 300,000 to socially privileged subjects, workers, local officials, socially-supported subjects, poor families, poor workers, etc.

At the meeting, representatives of departments and sectors have contributed various opinions on implementation of payments for Tet and policies taking care of the subjects.

Concluding the meeting, Tran Thanh Liem basically agreed upon the measures as proposed by Department of Finance. Besides, he suggested that consideration should be made against subjects who are officials of education and medical affairs on expatriate designation or in difficult situations or having no conditions to get home for Tet or Youth’s League secretaries for workers, heads of young worker clubs, officers in charge of unifying and gathering youths and communal level so that the implementation would be public, apparent, and rightful to the subjects. The payments would be made before December 23 of the lunar calendar to enable Tet celebration.
