Phu Giao strengthens “Youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings” movement

Over the past years, Phu Giao district promoted a movement of “Youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings” among Youth Union members and reached considerable results.

Practical deeds

Doan Thi Thuy Phuong, Secretary of Phu Giao district’s Party Committee said that after more than 2 years of implementing the Politburo’s Directive no.05-Ct/TW on acceleration of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideal, morality and lifestyle”, the district has discovered many effective models, thereby creating a strong and active change of awareness and action among the local Youth Union members.

This is a vegetable production model of Bau Co hamlet’s cooperative group on vegetable growing in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Hoa commune

Studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings was concretized by the local Youth Unions at all levels by such practical activities as setting up 35 bookcases “Phu Giao’s youths studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings”; effectively realizing a movement of writing diaries, golden books following Uncle Ho’s teachings; awarding 104 scholarships worth VND35.6million; organizing a competition telling stories about Uncle Ho on the occasion of his birthday; upgrading gratitude houses, taking care of policy beneficiaries and heroic Vietnamese mothers…

The district’s Youth Unions at all levels also offered help of more than VND150million to pupils with difficult circumstances; built 2 “red scarf” houses and 2 recreational areas for needy pupils; constructed 3 houses of compassion for Youth Union members; coordinated with provincial Medical College and An Phuoc prison’s Youth Union branch to provide free medical check-up, medicine for the local needy people with a total expense of more than VND50million…

Especially, the district’s Youth Union also organized a variety of support activities for young people in economic development, contributing to effectively realizing the local poverty reduction and job creation…

Effective models

The district’s Youth Unions at all levels concretized the Politburo’s Directive no.05-Ct/TW on “acceleration of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideal, morality and lifestyle” by many practical and effective models, namely “Charity rice jar”, “Smile at workplace”…

They also organized competitions telling stories about late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals, contests singing songs about Uncle Ho with the participation of numerous officials, Party members; maintained activities studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings; honored poor-but-excellent pupils; took part in lighting candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and cleaning up at the district’s Martyrs’ Cemetery…Based on their real situation, they registered to carry out models studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings. For examples, the Youth Unions of Phuoc Ho and Tan Long communes registered to implement a model of “Smile at workplace” and gained good results.

The above-mentioned practical deeds affirmed that studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideal, morality and lifestyle has greatly influenced the local young people’s living and working lifestyle, helping them rise up in setting up their position in life and themselves in business, contributing to the local development.
