PPC’s Chairman Tran Van Nam: Utilizing local resources to help Phu Giao in completing new rural targets 

On Oct 5^th, provincial delegation led by Tran Van Nam, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, had a meeting with leaders of Phu Giao district on socio-economic development, security – defense situation of the first 9 months and the main tasks in the last 3 months 2015.

Since early this year, socio-economic situation of Phu Giao district had positive changes. Agricultural – forestry production value was estimated at VND2,205 billion, increasing 3.6% year-on-year. Livestock sector was developed with total swine number of 103,306, increasing 0.61%; total cattle and poultry number of 1,287,926, increasing 3.47%. People’s material, spiritual life was improved, security – defense condition was secured. National target program on new rural construction was accelerated, although there were still many difficulties in the infrastructure construction of transport, culture, education, healthcare…

Speaking at the meeting, Tran Van Nam asked Phu Giao district to review key projects serving new rural requirements to avoid spreading, wasteful investment; new rural construction must be tied to improving people’s life; the district should utilize local resources, diversify, socialize key projects to complete new rural construction’s targets in the last 3 months as well as in the 2015- 2020 period.
