Early March 5, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting with leaders of departments, sectors and localities to implement a pilot plan for converting functions, relocating enterprises outside of industrial parks (IPs) and industrial compounds (ICs) in the southern region to the northern ones of the province in 2024 and in the following years.
Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee speaks at the meeting
At the meeting, after hearing contributive ideas to the draft plan on supporting relocation from departments, sectors and localities presented by leader of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Minh said that after over 30 years of promoting industrial development, Binh Duong has attracted and established tens of thousands of domestic and foreign businesses. However, entering a new phase in urban development, it is extremely necessary for the province to convert functions and relocate enterprises outside IPs and ICs in the southern region to the northern ones of the province to solve problems on infrastructure, environment and people's lives.
Mr. Minh emphasized that the relocation will face many difficulties, but it must be done. Therefore, departments, sectors and localities need to deliberate and advise the province on implementation roadmaps and specific preferential policies in the spirit of creating favorable conditions for enterprises facing relocation and encouraging relocation. Particularly, information from departments, sectors and localities about relocation to enterprises needs to be clear and specific to avoid affecting the psychology of enterprises and the province's investment climate.
Provincial People's Committee Chairman noted that the evaluation, selection and classification of enterprises converting functions and relocating must be carried out under the law, creating favorable conditions for them to convert functions, relocate and use land after relocation based on general planning and zoning planning. In the work of relocating to northern localities, relevant sectors need to carefully advise the province on solutions for infrastructure investment, land fund, preferential policies, meeting all conditions for housing, social infrastructure and labor resources at the needs of enterprises after the relocation process.
