Province’s total herd of pigs up 2.8%

According to the latest figure by provincial Statistics Office, the whole province has had a total of 5,710 buffaloes, up 0.4%; 25,011 cows, up 1%; more than 678,530 pigs, up 2.8%; more than 10.5 million fowls, up 8.3%...compared to the same period last year.

Over the past time, An Son commune in Thuan An city, Thanh An commune in Dau Tieng district were hit by African hog cholera with 30 infected pigs destroyed. Dau Tieng district also faced the outbreak of bird flu with 10,400 infected fowls culled.

It is known that breeding companies and households in the province have taken solutions to repopulate their poultry and cattle herds, paid attention to hygiene and epidemic prevention…, aiming to soon bring a stable supply of food to the market.
