Province’s trade-services on right track

Thanks to many measures implemented in a synchronous way, the province’s trade-services sector has reached high results in the current difficult context. Particularly, the province has implemented a program on high-quality services in the 2011 and 2015 period and orientations till 2020, an action program on the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade in the 2011 and 2015 period, a development plan on market, supermarket and trade center network till 2020; mobilized enterprises to take part in trade fairs at home and abroad and provided them with more support; further made investment in tourist and transportation activities at the local people’s demand for entertainment, traveling and goods transportation…

In 2012, the province’s trade-services sector gained positive results. The province’s total retail sale of commodities and services was nearly VND75.146trillion, a year-on-year increase of 2011. Of the total figure, trade reached nearly VND43.342trillion or 57.5% of total; drinking-eating and residence obtained more than VND9.697bln or 12.9% of total; services reached nearly VND21.891bln or 29.1% of total.

Thanks to sectoral planning well implemented, the province’s infrastructure for trade-services has been improved, creating favorable conditions for the local goods exchange. Some trade projects, namely Vinatex, Co.opMart, CitiMart, Becamex Trade Center, Big C…, have reached high efficiency. Many large-scale  trade projects such as Aeon, Lotte, Big C, Di An…are also continuing to be invested.

Provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that the rapid rise of province-based supermarkets and trade centers has contributed to better serving the livelihood of the local people, promoting the local consumption under a civilized and modern trend and ensuring supply of essential commodities for the local people on Tet and great holidays…

Industrial and regional advantages have also contributed to promoting the development of the local trade and services sector. Along with investment in infrastructure of supermarkets and trade centers, projects on transportation, depot and port services have recently loomed large across the province, contributing to promoting the local economic development.

Provincial People’s Committee said that the province’s trade-services sector in 2012 reached robust growth with diversification of operational forms and high added values. This also showed that the province’s development program on high-quality services in the 2011 and 2015 period, visions till 2020 made positive changes over the past time. With the above results, it is believed that the province’s GDP value of trade-services sector is likely to reach 38% of the province’s total GDP by 2015.
