On May 11th, at People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City, Provincial People's Committee held a conference to disseminate Law on Children and Decree 56/2017/ND-CP. Attending were Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Representatives of departments, branches and localities.
At the conference, delegates listened to a presentation of Dang Hoa Nam, Director General of Children's Department, on Children's Law. The Law was approved by the 11th National Assembly at its 11th session on April 5, 2016. The law has taken effect from June 1, 2017; consists of 7 chapters, 106 articles, regulates the rights and duties of children; principles and measures to ensure the implementation of children rights; responsibilities of agencies, organizations, educational institutions, families and individuals in exercising the rights and duties of children. Along with Children's Law, Mr. Nam also introduced Decree No. 56/2017 / ND-CP dated May 9, 2017 detailing some articles of Law on Children.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hung said that in recent years, Binh Duong had implemented very well Ordinance on Children, Law of Children 2014. The care and education of children has been well done, especially for children in particularly difficult circumstances, street children and poor children with no learning conditions; Raising the entire society’s awareness of the care and education of children. However, there were still many issues with limitations. The implementation of Law on Children and Decree No. 56 aimed to raise the awareness of all levels and sectors in order to improve the protection, care and education of children in accordance with Law on Children 2016.
