According to provincial People's Council Standing Committee, in 2023, the supervision activities of provincial People's Council Standing Committee and provincial People's Council committees have completed the proposed programs and plans. Supervision methods are carried out in a variety of forms, suitable to reality, including organizing direct supervision teams; supervising through reviewing reports of units under the supervision; supervising through organizing explanation sessions at meetings of provincial People's Council Standing Committee; supervising through activities receiving citizens, handling letters and meeting with voters... Particularly, provincial People's Council committees have selected issues in many fields, key concerns of voters to carry out monitoring. During the implementation process, provincial People's Council always closely and promptly monitors, getting the situation and making supervision to the end.

Specifically, in 2023, the Economic and Budget Committee of provincial People's Council organized surveys and special subjects for supervion on market management and price stabilization; the situation and results of implementing the public investment plan in 2023; the situation and results of non-budget funds. The Cultural and Social Committee of provincial People's Council organized monitoring contents on the situation and results of implementing policies to preserve and develop traditional craft villages in association with the local tourism development. Provincial People's Council's Legal Department organized monitoring contents on preventing and controlling over crime, social evils and building the movement of “All people protecting national security”; resolving and controlled the resolve of civil cases on marriage and family. Through supervision, in-depth analysis and evaluation of the achieved results, shortcomings during the implementation process were held, thereby overcoming shortcomings and proposing solutions to improve efficiency in State management.

Improving efficiency and effectiveness

Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People's Council said that in 2023, provincial People's Council Standing Committee and committees will focus on leadership to improve the efficiency and quality of supervision by choosing supervision contents with focus on pressing issues reported by a large number of voters, obstacles in State management and law enforcement; innovating forms, diversifying implementation methods, having direct supervision at the meetings, supervision through reports, thematic supervision, supervision of deputy groups, organization of answer-question sessions between two sessions, explanation sessions of provincial People's Council Standing Committee while closely combining survey and supervision.

As a result, in addition to regular supervision, provincial People's Council organized 10 thematic supervision sessions and participated in supervision sessions of the National Assembly, provincial Party Committee and other agencies in the province. Noticeably, provincial People's Council supervised the topic of the implementation of policies to attract, train and develop human resources of the province. This was an important content, greatly affecting the quality and efficiency of human resource use. Therefore, provincial People's Council organized a survey and worked with many relevant agencies and units of the province and districts. After monitoring, provincial People's Council held an explanation session to hear difficulties in implementing the policy. From the monitoring results and explanation sessions, provincial People's Council issued resolutions on monitoring results while advising the Party Committee of provincial People's Council to report to provincial Party Standing Committee on the results of supervision and propose solutions to more effectively implement this policy.

In addition, provincial People's Council Standing Committee organized monitoring of 3 special subjects on the operational efficiency and quality of the local educational institutions in the period of 2018-2021; the organizational and operational situation of Thu Dau Mot market; the operational situation of Binh Duong Waste Treatment Complex. The monitoring contents carried out by provincial People's Council Standing Committee included issues related to people's lives. From these monitoring sessions, provincial People's Council made recommendations and promptly forwarded them to authorities; accompanied and supported people and businesses to achieve the set goals

It can be affirmed that supervision activities have received more attention from provincial People's Council, innovating methods, ensuring that supervision activities do not affect the normal operations of agencies, units and localities. The monitoring contents selected by provincial People's Council and committees are in focus, covering many areas of social life.
