After 5 years of inception (2005-2010), An Thai – a poor commune of Phu Giao district has become a developing locality with full of potential.

Vu Van Chung, secretary of the communal party committee, said to gain results of today, we acknowledge the public’s hi-unity in implementing resolutions of the 1st communal party congress for the 2005-2010 tenure. As a thinly populated area with advantages for developing industrial trees, the communal party committee has focused on developing sustainable agriculture as a key task. Specifically, the locality has concentrated on growing rubber trees.

As a result, the locality’s rubber area has reached about 1,425ha worth over VND157bil, improving local people’s life with an income of VND11mil per capita per year and a decline of poverty rate by 4%...

The result is an impetus for the commune to keep implementing resolutions of new term effectively. However, the most important thing is that the commune has won people’s trust for the Party leadership. “Upholding the done achievements, we will keep maintaining and expanding rubber area in the new term. Besides, the local authority will create consumption source for local farmers’ products”, said Chung.

From a poor commune with hi-unity and support from the local people, An Thai commune has showed its strong development. With the growth, the communal party committee and authority will keep completing the proposed tasks and goals in the following years.
