Retiring after a long working time in education sector, Meritorious Teacher Than Thi Diep Nga has been a visiting professor at several schools in the province and taking on the role of Head of the Red Cross Association in Quarter 4, Phu Loi Ward, Thu Dau Mot City. In addition, she also study more to open up a new direction that could help herself and others.

Ms. Than Thi Diep Nga gives gifts to people having difficult circumstances in humanitarian activities of the Red Cross Society.

 Work together with the local community

Ms. Than Thi Diep Nga worked and taught biology at Binh Duong Pedagogical College (now Thu Dau Mot University). In 2000, she was honored with the noble title of Meritorious Artist; in 2025, she officially retired according to the school’s regime.

Showing the exemplary role of a party member and with the encouragement of local and neighborhood leaders, from 2018 to present, Ms. Nga has taken on the task of Head of the Red Cross Association of Quarter 4, Phu Loi Ward, Thu Dau Mot City.

Over the years, she has played a good role as an advisor to the Party Committee and the neighborhood’s Executive Board in Red Cross activities and humanitarian work. As carrying out the campaign "Each organization, each individual is connected with a humanitarian address", with the role of a bridge, Ms. Nga and members of the Red Cross Association of Quarter 4 have connected with many benefactors to provide monthly assistance to people having difficult circumstances. Currently, the number of humanitarian addresses connected by the association is 12 households, the highest among quarters in the ward, with a monthly support of 300,000 VND/household.

Besides, with her leading role, for many years, Quarter 4 of Phu Loi Ward has achieved and exceeded the blood donation targets assigned by the Red Cross Association.

Continue to make contributions to society

Not only is she known as the President of the Red Cross Association, who is devoted to humanitarian charity work, Ms. Nga is also known as a "very skillful traditional medicine practitioner" who continues her family's tradition and self-study to improve her skills to help people.

She said that after an accident that injured her left wrist, she was not qualified to undergo surgery as prescribed, so she thought she should study more about traditional medicine to be able to treat her hand. From then on she became interested in traditional medicine. After many years of accumulating knowledge, in 2023 she registered to take the exam and was awarded an international vocational competency certificate according to ISO/IEC 17024/2012 Personal Competency in the Health and Beauty Industry (this certificate is recognized in 164 countries). Recently, as a physician, Ms. Nga has also participated in many conferences and seminars related to this field at home and abroad.

Currently, Ms. Nga's home address is also the on-site "First Aid Point" of the Phu Loi Ward’s Red Cross Association. Many cases of food poisoning, sports accidents, household accidents, strokes... were saved from danger thanks to her timely first aid. In addition to first aid, she also teach people on how to take care of their health without medication, provides nutritional advice... when they need it.

From the results of her humanitarian activities and her own efforts, Ms. Nga was awarded many certificates of merit. In addition to the title of Meritorious Teacher and the Medal for the Cause of Education, she was also awarded a certificate of merit by the Vietnam Association of Traditional Medicine for her achievements in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic; is a Party member who has excellently completed the tasks of the Ward Party Committee for many consecutive years; was awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial Party Committee for excellently completing the tasks for 5 consecutive years (2019-2023) and many certificates of merit by the Thu Dau Mot City Red Cross Association, the Ward People's Committee...

 With her tireless contributions and efforts, on September 13, 2024, Associate Professor, Physician Than Thi Diep Nga was honored by the Vietnam Golden Star Brand Program at the announcement ceremony of "Vietnam Golden Star - Typical Physician following Uncle Ho's teachings", and awarded the certificate of "Top 10 prestigious traditional medicine brands".
