More than 200 local and foreign companies are participating in the Southeastern Region Industry and Trade Fair & Exhibition 2014 which got underway in Phan Thiet city, the southern Binh Thuan province on April 17.

The annual event is part of a national trade promotion programme launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and activities marking National Liberation Day (April 30).

The exhibition is open to all industries and provides an occasion for companies to showcase and demonstrate their latest products, service, study activities of rivals and examine recent market trends and opportunities in such fields as agro-forestry-fisheries, garments and textiles, leather footwear and interior decoration among others.

Uong Tien Thinh, Managing Director from the National Textile & Garment Group (Vinatex) said that the event is of great significance as it helps the business community in the region improve its competitive edge.

The event runs through April 22.
