Disadvantaged children in Ben Cat town and Dau Tieng district had a meaningful day as joining the program “Spring journey with disadvantaged children” organized by provincial Children Protection Fund in collaboration with Binh Duong Television at Iron Triangle tunnel relic on morning 29th Jan. In addition to gifts filled with the warmth of spring, children had the opportunity to meet and listen to former President Nguyen Minh Triet; to visit and learn about the historic area of Iron Triangle tunnel, where stores marks of heroic revolutionary traditions of our army and people during the two wars...
During the anti-French and anti-American resistance war, the Iron Triangle tunnel (Ben Cat town) wrote the heroic history of the nation. Standing on the hometown, former President Nguyen Minh Triet expressed, he was very glad to attend this program with many children. He also told stories about glorious historical traditions associated with the so-called Iron Triangle tunnel. He pointed route 13, route 14 and route 7, forming a triangle, where many battles occurred.
Along with peace, people here overcame difficulties to build their hometown, but the consequences of war are still very hard. Many families are still difficult. Therefore, helping the people, especially poor children here is very necessary and valuable. Mr. Triet said: “On behalf of people here, I would like to thank all sponsors, donors, leaders, and departments sending affection and gifts to children so that they can have a happy Tet festival. Hopefully, this sentiment will continue to multiply in the future with practical activities. I also hope that people in Ben Cat town and Dau Tieng district will continue to strive to develop these localities”.

The Iron Triangle tunnel became boisterous when welcoming many children to visit. “Spring journey with disadvantaged children” was a bridge for them to have a fun and meaningful day, thanks to provincial Children Protection Fund, the attention of the authorities, sharing of benefactors. Many spring gifts filled with love were given to poor children, helping them being happier on Tet holidays, to continue learning, training to serve the motherland.
Needy children are subjects need attention of the whole community. Local authorities and donors have concerned how to bring warm spring for the children. Hence, the program “Spring journey with disadvantaged children” was born to realize this wish. Talking about the significance of this journey, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, PPC’s Vice Chairman, said, this was a practical activity to help poor children in the province to have a happy, complete Tet holiday.
Former President Nguyen Minh Triet presented gifts to poor children in the 5th journey.
“Provincial Children Protection Fund encouraged donors to organize the “Spring journey with disadvantaged children” at many localities for provincial leaders, philanthropists to visit and offer gifts to children. This is the 5th journey sponsored by Dong A Ton Company. We offered gifts to disadvantaged children in five communes in Ben Cat town and Dau Tieng district. This is a very meaningful program; children were very excited to receive gifts”.
In coming years, we will continue to organize this program at various localities for poor children to receive gifts, and it will be more meaningful when donors give gifts directly to children”, said Mr. Liem.
