Business start-up on new homeland

With ambition of business, Dat has won many successes from his business models. In late 2000, he started thinking about business and moved to Khanh Binh commune after a survey.

In 2001, his family moved to Binh Duong province to buy rubber plantations of local residents. “In early days, I enjoyed support from local farmers, so my first deed was to place jobs for local poor residents”, he said.

In the first harvest, his family enjoyed a big profit from rubber plantation. After that he opened a weaving workshop, despite of objection of family members. The new business model faced many difficulties but he still continued expanding this model to lure clients.

Successes

He decided to spend all capital sources to invest in weaving workshop. After a long time of worry, he finally enjoyed orders and high incomes. At present, he has reaped about VND100mil per month from this weaving workshop and about VND30mil/month from rubber plantation.

Both placing jobs for local people and reaping high incomes, Dat has reached title of goof farmer in production and business for many consecutive years.

In 2010, he decided to sell his weaving workshop and shifted to service business. “Selling weaving workshop is a difficult decision for me and owing to shortage of management, I sold it for one of my friends”. Then, he invested in mini football grounds and lodging houses. He has enjoyed about VND30mil/month from mini football grounds and about VND40mil/month from 62 lodging rooms. In 2012, he was awarded title of good farmer in production and business by the central.

Now, at the old age, he still joins in some charity activities to help poor people as well as offers experiences on business and farming technique for those who is in need.
